FIFA 2022 WORLD CUP STADIUM LUSAIL, STATE OF QATAR 

The Lusail Stadium Design & Build Project is associated with the iconic stadium, the largest of the 2022 FIFA World Cup (the Tournament) venues with an 80,000 seat capacity. The Lusail Stadium is a key host venue for the Tournament matches and is also the chosen venue for both the opening and closing ceremonies.

The stadium concept was by British firm, Foster + Partners and it will be designed and constructed to meet the Federation lnternationale de Football Association (FIFA) standards in Tournament mode.

The saddle-form roof appears to float above the concrete seating bowl, discreetly supported by a ring of arching columns. The concave profile of the stadium’s outer enclosure evokes the sails of a traditional dhow boat.

Inside, the seating bowl is designed to enhance the experience and atmosphere for spectators: VIP and hospitality accommodation is concentrated along the sides of the pitch to create a continuous sea of fans behind each goal.
